Kyoto to Osaka

Hi

We are staying at the Karasume hotel. I notice that there are 2 stations nearby. Is 1 a rail network and the other a metro.

How do we get to Osaka by train from Kyoto and what station does it take you to?

Also, are there any direct trains to KIX from Kyoto?

Kyoto to Osaka is about 30 minutes by JR Special Rapid train.

The Karasuma Hotel is located near Shijo Karasuma crossing. There are two stations there: Shijo Station on subway Karasuma Line and Karasuma Station on the Hankyu Railway Line.

If you%26#39;re going to Osaka (not KIX) take the Hankyu Line. You%26#39;ll be at Umeda, right next to JR Osaka Station, in about 45 minutes without a transfer. Make sure to take the Limited Express (no surcharge) otherwise it takes much longer.

As noted above, take JR Haruka to KIX from JR Kyoto Station. To get to JR Kyoto Station from the hotel, you%26#39;ll take subway Karasuma Line.

You can also use the Yasaka Taxi (http://www.yasaka.jp/taxi/shuttle-e/) shuttle service between Kyoto and KIX. It is useful for avoiding the hassle of moving heavy luggage on trains to and fro the airport.

It will cost you ￥3500 per trip.
