Morning at Tsujiki and Kabuki-za trip report

We just spent a great Monday morning in Tokyo. As recommended by Route 246, we walked around the outer market of Tsukuji and ate at Tsukiji Sushi Sen, which has an English menu and an extremely friendly staff.

After breakfast we walked to Kabuki-Za and got in line at about 1035 for single-act tickets. They had gone on sale at 1030, and people had started lining up before that, so by the time we got in line it was standing room only. We were just happy to get in! It was 700 yen for a 30 minute play plus another 1 hour play. www.kabuki-za.co.jp/english/program.html

We got 2 sets of headsets, 400 yen each plus deposit, and enjoyed the 30 minute play. We had a great view and a railing to lean on while watching. If we had seats and if it hadn%26#39;t been such a nice day outside, we would have stayed for the second act as well. Even for the abbreviated show, kabuki was a great experience and worth the price.
