Cell phone question?

Hi, We will be in Tokyo next month for 8 days. Where should we rent a cell phone? Someone told me I can rent one at the Narita Airport. Is it expensive compared to rentaphone (they delivery to my hotel)? Any suggestions? Thanks.

We used JAL ABC rental company from Narita. We booked in advance online and the phones were ready for us when we arrived. Very easy pick up and drop off at Narita. We were happy with the service but used the phones very little. Just for occasional communication between my husband and myself.

There is very little between the rental service of Softbank and JAL-ABC. The rates are about the same. Both allow reservations online in advance so you can pick them up within 5 minutes after you exit customs to the arrivals hall. Note that the phones do sell out so make your reservation at least a week before.
