Sumida River Cruise information please

Has anyone done the Sumida River Cruise in recent times?

Was it worthwhile and where did you get on and off the boat.

Do you just go to the pier and buy your ticket before you get on. We will be doing this either on 5, 6 or 7 April.

yes you just go and get your tickets at pier. Need reservation if you are party of 15 or more.

I just bought it at the pier. They are used to dealing with tourists..no problems.

Just my opinion

I%26#39;ve taken the cruise a couple of times in recent years, and did not find it very exciting. It does give you a chance to relax for a while, though, as the PA system exclaims about each of the 13 (or 14 or 12--I forget) bridges. I don%26#39;t know if this is still true, but much of the river bank was lined with the tents and shanties of Tokyo%26#39;s homeless.

One time I boarded at Odaiba, changing boats before going up to Asakusa. It was a good way of seeing the bay, and an easy way to get to Asakusa.

It is not exciting, however it gives you a totally different perspective of Tokyo.

An overpriced cruise, compared to what they used to charge couple years back.

What%26#39;s the charge now?
