indian food

Any advice to have south indian food in sapporo?

These are my picks. Good nan bread at both.

Friendly, great sets, cheap for lunch and dinner, nice people. Japanese management, Indian or Nepalese cooks.

Good lunch sets, but expensive for dinner. Indian management and cooks. Central location, with branches downtown and at Sapporo Factory.

There%26#39;s a new syle of curry called soup curry, and Sapporo is famous for it, but personally I don%26#39;t like it.

The new second-floor Indian/Thai restaurant at the West 5 block of Tanuki-kouji is dreadful. Also dreadful: Little Spoon, a local chain of Japanese curry (no nan).

See my posting history for more restaurant recommendations.

And for Thai curry try Jitrada at South 4 West 5.

Mirche is awesome!!! its not central, but great food...

also, there are some good curry places just north of Hokkaido UNiversity - near Kita-18 Station...Sapporo Lite knows this area...can she recommend somewhere there?

There are a few Indian curry restaurants in the university area indeed! Though I think most of them specialise in Northen Indian and Nepalese cuisine.

I would reccomend Ra-Ra (Nepalese)which should be at North 21 West 5, but when I went past there last week, there was nothing but a gaping hole! I assume its being renevated and is somewhere else at present, but I%26#39;m not sure where though I%26#39;m trying to find out. In the north 24 area there are at least 2 more Indian curry restaurants-north23 West 5 (http://r.gnavi.co.jp/h253500/) and another one around north 25 West 4. I%26#39;m not sure on what the last 2 serve as I haven%26#39;t been there.

Sapporo-lite

Ra-ra was good. I%26#39;d like to hear what happened to it.

I';ll get my ';contacts'; on the case, because I want to know too.

What about that one near Maruyama- The Everest club or something? It wasn%26#39;t bad either

Himalaya Club.

I was never too keen on that one.

True. I think Ra-Ra and Mirch are my favourites overall.
