Hotel Sunroute Plaza Shinjuku vs Hotel Rose Garden?

Hello!

I have been looking for a Shinjuku hotel under $200 AUS/12000 Yen for the first week in April and these are the two I have narrowed down:

Sunroute Plaza Shinjuku for $200 AUS per night

Hotel Rose Garden for $170 AUS per night

Which is better in terms of location e.g. close to shopping and also ease of walking to Shinjuku station?

I am leaning towards Sunroute Plaza as its much newer and I have read its actually in Shibuya?

I saw another post for the new Citadines Tokyo Shinjuku but can%26#39;t get the dates working.

Thanks in advance =)

Sunroute Plaza is very close to JR Shinjuku Station. It%26#39;s about a 3 minute walk from the south exits (New South, South, Southern Terrace) of the station. Technically, the hotel is located within Shibuya ward but that%26#39;s just the address. Shibuya station itself is actually three stations south on JR Yamanote Line from Shinjuku.

I don%26#39;t know much about Hotel Rose Garden. Location-wise, Sunroute Plaza is definitely more convenient. Sunroute Plaza has decent rooms that are clean and nicely furnished. Like most Japanese hotels, the more you pay, the bigger the room.

We stayed at the SR Plaza last month. Our rate was about $240(?) for the larger twin room. We were allocated a smoking room on checkin without being told. We had to go back down and ask for a non smoking (just remember to ask when you checkin).

Room was mid standard, but very acceptable. Location is excellent %26amp; they mind your luggage after checkout, if you have a late connection. Recommended.

Considering the access from and to Narita Airport, I%26#39;d recommend you to stay at Sunroute Plaza. It%26#39;s very close to the Narita Express track in Shinjuku Station.

%26#39;Suica and NEX%26#39; combo is a good deal when you travel to Shinjuku from Narita Airport.

Indeed the Sunroute Shinjuku is under jurisdiction of Shibuya Ward Office, however it%26#39;s virtually located in Shinjuku.

Shibuya is only 7 minutes away by Yamanote Line from Shinjuku.

Thankyou for your prompt replies, these are Expedia rates for a twin room.

I don%26#39;t mind if the room is small but would like something newer, are there any other newish business hotels that are recommended?

As we are two girls our main concern is close proximity to transport and staying on a populated street with shops and streetlife so its safe when we walk back in the late night.

Proximity and newness and rates together, Sunroute Plaza is really the choice.

i stayed at the sunroute plaza a few days (last week) ago

its great for location, station, am/pm, its basic but clean and the main thing is...it has to be near a train station for me...as i did alot of touring and catching the underground and trains

the jr line is like round the corner

and the toei line is next to the hotel!!!!
