Electronics in Osaka - recommendations?

I will be starting my Japan tour in Osaka, and I%26#39;m hoping to find a new camera there...

Knowing I need to go to DenDen City, are there any recommendations as to which shops I should go to?

AND if looking for pc/laptops - does anyone know if it %26#39;easy%26#39; to buy computers that are set up for Western use...?

Thanks,

You usually have to go to specialty stores for computers with English OS, and pay a premium. Therefore it%26#39;s easier if you just put your own OS on top or multi-boot, provided you know how/where to get and install the drivers. There is a slight risk that certain hardware feature will only work with Japanese software(you can still install Japanese software on your non-Japanese OS).

Den Den is a nice shopping strip, with great shops but pricey. I saw some nice speaker, but I will look them up and purchase them elsewhere.

What camera do you have in mind?

Depends what you want to buy.

Unlike before, it is not so cheap to buy electronics at Denden town or Akihabara anymore. Still it%26#39;s fun to walk around though.

For small computer parts, still those places are must go but for other items like cameras, it is not rare to see better deal at other stores but this only depends upon your luck.

If you are buying camera, ';Kitamura'; ';Naniwa'; ';Yodobashi'; ';BIC'; are worth visit.

';Kitamura'; may offer better deal if you are buying with cash.
