I am planning a trip to Tokyo and Thailand. Currently I have 4 nights set for both Bangkok and Tokyo. I have an extra night that I can give to either of those cities.
Which should I give it to?

Having been to both multiple times, money aside, I vote for Tokyo. Bangkok does not have enough attractions to occupy a visitor for 3 or 4 days unless you plan to lounge by the pool all day or get spa treatments. Tokyo is much more diverse, particularly if you take day trips to nearby areas (Hakone, Nikko, Kamakura, or even just interesting suburbs like Kichioji).
I%26#39;d choose Bangkok.
There are a lot of entertainment there you can enjoy at reasonable prices. Thais are good at hosting tourists, and their smiles heal your mind, which are why I often travel to the Land of Smiles (Thailand).
Don%26#39;t forget to get a massage :-)
I would choose Tokyo because of the ease of train travel to places for day/overnight trips like Mt. Fuji or even Kyoto and perhaps to experience a night in Temple lodgings.
Immediate Bangkok area to me does not offer much beyond 3 days other than a day trip to Ayutthaya
Also depends on when going since B%26#39;Kok can be very hot and humid about 364 days a year :)
