Toyoko Inn in Kyoto

Dear all,

I have booked the Toyoko Inn in Kyoto a while ago.

Check in Apr10 and Check out Apr12.

However, I was told by my friend that I need to stay 2 more days in Kyoto.

But by now, all the toyoko Inn has been fully booked probably because of the sakura.

So can anyone kindly suggest some place to stay for those 2 nights? I am having a budget like 12000 yen per night. (There are 2 of us).

Thanks a lot for your help!

I would recommend checking the website travel.raukuten.co.jp/en . The last I checked, Kyoto Plaza Hotel, Hotel Station Kyoto, APA hotel etc are still available for the time frame you are looking at. I also saw a superhotel on Karasuma Gojo and the website is http://www.superhotel.co.jp . Then click on English and you should be able to locate the hotel. There are still some double rooms available on April 13 and 14 at the Superhotel Karasuma Gojo when I checked a few minutes ago. Good luck and have fun.

thanks singinggigi.

Do we need to have fully payment when we book the hotel via rakuten? Because I have some yen? Because I have some cash which I exchanged at a much lower price so I prefer to use cash.

I assume the availability might be quite different from the hotel website and the rakuten? Please correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks.

I believe rakuten requires a prepayment online. Of course you can also try the hotel websites directly. Superhotels are kind of like Toyoko Inn I think. They will require payment when checkin. Another thought would be hold on to your existing yen until you get to Japan. A lot of places in Kyoto operate on cash only basis. You will still be able to use up your yen regardless.

thanks a lot for your information.

I am looking at super hotel which you mentioned:

superhotel.co.jp/s_hotels/鈥arasuma.html

seems like april 10 and april 11 are totally booked.

Am I looking at different hotel? Please correct me if I am wrong.

Appreciated your help as I hope I can still find something which was less than 12000 yen per room at this stage. :D

My other suggestion would be staying in Osaka Umeda Toyoko Inn and take the train into Kyoto. Train ride costs about 340-590 yen one way and it takes 30-40 minutes to go from Osaka to Kyoto. The Toyoko inn Umeda in Osaka should have a better chance for a room than Kyoto. The other choice would be using rakuten travel website.
