New attempt..

So now we have..

8th -10th June stay in Yokohama and day trip to Hakone, Tokyo and Kamakura (go flying in Hakone Fuiji area ...don%26#39;t ask)

2 nights Hiroshima

2 nights Aso and Yufuin

2 night Kyoto...

any accom reccs for Yufuin..

New attempt..

How are you going to/from Aso and Yufuin? There is no JR direct train. If you take a bus or drive, there is Kurokawa onsen inbetween. In Yufuin, Kamenoi Besso is the most expensive but I frequent this place.

I have to ask; are you talking paragliding or hang gliding? Or something else?

Something else...

RC

Our itinerary this time has been suggested by a friend in Tokyo. I assume we will therefore use a bus or similar to get to Aso/Yafuin

It is going to be quite different sceneries than the Rock areas(Ayers or Sydney).

To view Aso volcano:

Needs QuickTime to view.

There are many buses in Kyushu, to/from Aso %26amp; Yufuin:

If you have JR Pass, it is worth taking the Yufu/Yufu-no-Mori LEX, even from Yufuin to Beppu, even though a local bus is quick %26amp; cheap.

The train, Yufuin and the ryokan I mentioned(not my YouTube).

The onsen is time reserved private.

Compare that to the Thermal Pool in Elsey Park.

Hi,

not comparing any of Japan to Aus,

more to other volcano/thermal springs locations we have done..

LOL, there is little point in travel if you look for exactly the same we have at home, or try to compare...

i was more concerned that japan may have more than just volcanoes and hot springs and i want to try and be as diverse as possible

Right, I am sure you want to come back to Japan for more onsen as I get urge to go outback camping %26amp; feed rock wallabies. What else do you want to find in Japan besides warm hearted people in Kyushu like Oz?

OK, now I absolutely can%26#39;t stand it and this is totally off topic. Is this gas or battery RC? If you%26#39;re taking gas RC equipment I would be quite curious to find out how you get it on a plane these days. My friend had some petrol residue on one of his suitcases and it caused quite a delay because they have some scanner that senses for flammable materials and his suitcase was flagged by the scanning machine.

%26lt;%26lt;%26lt;Something else...RC%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;

OK,

RC electric and now using Lipo%26#39;s.. Until 2008 using Nicads. Now F5B requires Lipos.. BTW the gliders travel at about 170mph no power but climb at about 150 mph under power

We have friends who travel with smelly diesels etc and they do complete washouts etc with alcohol and are ok.

in the past we have been ok..usually produce a recognised magazine which Guru features in and we get waved thru but yes things are getting more challenging for travel (which was why we pulled out of WC in Ukraine)

Should add we avoid US like plague as Guru is a chem eng and if we travelled with the F2 planes then we would have undoubted grief... he%26#39;s an old F2 (gas to you) pilot.. F2A, F2C

I see. Thanks for that. You probably know that you can%26#39;t put LiPo in your checked luggage anymore (at least with US airlines)? It%26#39;s on the TSA website now.
