New otani tokyo

Hi

We have finally chosen the new otani hotel.

Was wondering if anybody has stayed here in the passed that can recommenced things to do in the area in the evening or restaurants outside of the hotel.

Also would any one know how much a taxi from the airport to the hotel would cost ???

Also what the weather is like at the moment (don%26#39;t know wither to take a heavy coat). We are arriving next Friday.

Thanks

Emma

My favourite Tokyo hotel. Can%26#39;t name names but there are plenty of reasonable restaurants close to the rear exit. Most of my stays there have been on expenses so usually ate in hotel. Some excellent restaurants but not cheap.

Taxi will be in the region of 250 euro but limousine bus is virtually as fast and costs around 3,000 yen (roughly 25 euro)

Temperatures in Tokyo in March very similar to Dublin, so could be 15C or could be zero. The coldest I have been in recent years was one late March in Tokyo. Big difference is that it will probably be sunny.

Thanks for that.

Will definitely get the airport bus...

Really looking forward to next week.

If anybody wants to add anything feel free.

Trader Vic%26#39;s has a great champagne brunch on Sundays. But it%26#39;s kind of pricey. newotani.co.jp/en/…index.html

Go out of the hotel and walk across to the bridge (Benten-bashi) to the Akasaka district. There are literally hundreds of restaurants there. Akasaka also has a couple of big shrines -- Toyokawa Inari and Hie Jinja. Or walk around the TBS (tv/radio station) ';Za-Sakasu';. Great restaurants there, too.

Next Friday -- meaning, March 13? It%26#39;s hard to tell what the weather will be like, but don%26#39;t bring a coat that%26#39;s going to be too ';heavy.'; If you%26#39;re walking a lot, it will get your blood pumping or you%26#39;re taking the trains, it will be warm. Wear something warm, but not super thick (no heavy wool-blanket-type coats). Wear layers. And comfortable shoes!

Enjoy!
