Sumo Wrestling in April

Hello,

I will be in Tokyo April 11 %26amp; 12 and wanted to see some Sumo wrestling. According to the Nihon Sumo Kyokai Official Grand Sumo Home Page, they have an event that day. From the website its not clear if this is actual wrestling or just a tour on the art Sumo. Has anyone gone to this? Or has any advice on seeing Sumo wrestling?

The April 11th date I%26#39;m not sure about. There are definitely tour companies that can take you to a stables to see them practice and all the ceremonies etc. I booked my May tournament tickets through http://www.buysumotickets.com/

Sumo Wrestling in April

There is a tournament in Fujisawa, Kanagawa Prefecture (about an hour train ride from Tokyo) on April 11th. This is not a regular tournament but you%26#39;ll see actual wrestling. Many high ranking wrestlers will not participate in this event but if you%26#39;re not a die hard sumo fan, it really doesn%26#39;t matter. They%26#39;ll have fun events, too, such as Japanese drum show and kids sumo matches.

The tournament in Fujisawa, Kanagawa Prefecture is the one I was looking at. Do you know of a tour company or place I can buy tickets?

I cannot find a link in English, but according to this Japanese site, the only way you can get tickets now is by telephone or fill out the form and fax it:
