Hey,
Me and my husband are wanting to stay in Kyoto (preferably a ryokan) from March 31 to April 5th and right now we don%26#39;t have any accommodations in Kyoto. I have tried literally 50 Ryokans and none can accommodate the time frame. Does anyone know of any good ';out of the way'; places no one has thought of?
We have tried from Shimizu to Zuihoukaku and nothing. Well the $300/night ryokans are still available but we want to budget around $120-150 night.
I THOUGHT Tani house was good and we had reservations but after reading the reviews I am scared and will to stay at Oharasansou and commute the 1 hour in a day! (btw only place that will take us the full 5 days!)
Sigh! suggestions/tip would be really helpful.
I know I shouldn%26#39;t of done this so late minute and I have been trying since early last week and still searching!
Help! SOS!
Kyoto Accommodations
Wow, that%26#39;s peak season for domestic tourists heading to see the cherry blossoms. I booked 6 months in advance last time I went there %26amp; stayed 5 days with my Mom at that time. Are you absolutely dead-set on a ryokan? If not, it would widen your search...
Kyoto Accommodations
Trying to book a ryokan in Kyoto in the peak Sakura season now is almost impossible. Try Osaka. The commute is much better than from Ohara.
Wow! I thought if I booked a couple of weeks ago I would have been safe but that doesn%26#39;t seem to be the case! I guess I was hooped either way! ha-ha! I DID find accommodations till Saturday than we are heading to Ohara for the 2 days and that to Osaka and if we need to commute we can go back to Kyoto. Does that sound decent? I really wanted to say that I actually stayed in a Ryokan in Kyoto. That was my main goal.
I booked with Sawaya Honten. Has anyone heard of them? The website looks decent but reading on trip advisor places that look good on the website doesn%26#39;t necessary mean they are a good place to stay.
Lesson learned. If going back around this time book WAYY in advance!
Yeah, you%26#39;re probably out of luck this close to the date, given the season. But, in case you haven%26#39;t already, be sure to check these two sites:

Try this place. It had some rooms left. Charges by the room(their home page info. is misleading. See the actual under Accommodation).
