Which area to stay-Namba or Shinsaibashi?

Hi, I will be travelling to Osaka with my mum and 2 kids(10 and 13 year old). Which area should I stay because we will be going to Universal Studio and Kyoto? We are trying to cut down on train transfers.

The best area to stay at to avoid train transfers is probably Umeda/Osaka Station.

1)Shin Osaka and 2)Yodoyabashi come to my mind: #1 for the southern central Kyoto and #2 for the eastern parts. That said, I guess your children are old enough to cope with train transfers...
