One day sightseeing/experience in Tokyo

I%26#39;m in Tokyo for a few days from next weekend and have Saturday evening and all day Sunday free. Its my first time visiting Japan. Want to get the most from the day and experience some traditional Japanese events e.g. food / tea, perhaps Sumo? / see some sights.

Any suggestions out there?

If you only have one day, a packaged tour is often the best introduction. It%26#39;ll take you to all the main sights, and you won%26#39;t have to worry about getting you. (In out travels, we often do a ';tour'; on the first day in a new place, then decide where we want to go back to!)

Have fun!

Sorry, mis-typo.

You won%26#39;t have to worry about getting LOST!

:-)

You have a few days so you have enough time to do this on your own. The train and subway systems are very extensive and easy-to-use.

For what to see and do, read through some of the posts on the forum, or type in ';itinerary'; or something similar in the search box above. A good guidebook will also be essential for both planning and actually visiting. Finally, the Japan Guide site is very helpful to help you decide:

Thanks for all your help. Looking forward to the trip!

If you%26#39;re looking for a place to watch and learn tea ceremony, Hotel Okura (the leading traditional hotel in Tokyo) is pretty good. I learned a lot.

Thanks for that.
