Does anyone know where I can buy good quality mountaineering boots in Tokyo? (such as Scarpa Vega HA, Sportiva Nepal Extreme, etc, i.e, something good for high altitude and cold weather)

There is an REI (U.S. based) store in Minami Machida that we used to get a few small items on our last trip.

There%26#39;s several branches of Montbell also, however I don%26#39;t know enough about mountaineering to be able to say whether their products fit your needs. They have an English web site.

What shoe size? If you have big feet, it%26#39;s hard to get anything.

Yes, there are several stores that sell excellent mountain climbing supplies, although I%26#39;m not familiar with the brands you mentioned as I don%26#39;t don%26#39;t personally do high altitude or cold weather.

Some shop names are Ishii Sports in Shinjuku and Harajuku, Shuzanso in Ikebekuro, and there are several in the Kanda Jinbo-cho area where they sell ski and snowboards, ie, Nippin, Kojitsu and Sakaiya. There%26#39;s an Ishii Sports there, too. Nippin%26#39;s Akihabara branch is their main ';mountaineering'; equipement store.

The mountaineering gears shop should carry the camping fuel that I am looking for. I should check out the REI there too, for sure they will carry it.
