Is it ok to wear a long sleeve dress with leggings underneath and knee high boots to a nice restaurant.It will be our wedding anniversary next week while we are staying at the Righa Royal in Kyoto and there is a nice restarant called ';Top of Kyoto'; i was hoping to go to however most of what i will be packing is for comfort travelling not going out.

Thanks Bimdonesia for your quick reply. The only reason i asked is because i remember reading up on this a couple of months ago and a male replied that knee high boots are a big no no. But i am thinking now i will leave my boots behind and buy a nice new pair while i am over there to wear. Yes leggins are tights i suppose, they are thicker than stockings.

one point about buying boots in japan-- being petite, i have no problem buying clothes here, but one unexpected problem i have encountered has been the calf width in knee-high boots. foot size no problem, but if you have *any* meat on your calves, be prepared to go a-hunting!

eventually you might find something with a decent amount of calf width, but perhaps prepare yourself for a bit of searching....

I have never seen so many women wears boots in a country outside Japan. By wearing boots, you%26#39;d fit right in.
