Inexpensive Ryokan near treain station or gion area

My daughter and 3 of her friends will be in Kyoto for 2 nights and they would like to experience a ryokan. They are on a budget and can probably spend between $40-60 per night per person.

I can recommend Ryokan Shimizu -- it%26#39;s a short walk from the train station. Rooms are 5,000 to 6,000 yen/pp (depending on the time of year). We stayed there and loved it -- it%26#39;s clean, friendly and has a great bath. Check out the reviews.
