Will be going to Osaka in June. Are there any festivals in June? What about moving about the city. Is it relatively easy? Is there a place to hire an escort to the various place or do you need that at all. What about their customs, I do not want to do anything that would offend the Japanese people. Anyone give me a hint.

Generally within Osaka, you can easily get around on the various subway lines. Your best base will be around Osaka/Umeda or Shinsaibashi/Namba.

Consider trips to Kyoto (30 minutes) and Nara (45 minutes) while in Osaka.

There is no need for a escorted tour if you are willing to do some research yourself. Public transportation in Japan has English signs. They are always clean and always on time.

Finally regarding customs, just be polite and you will be ok. As a visitor, you are given much more leeway anyway. If you have a mobile phone, don%26#39;t use it on the trains. You always pay your restaurant bill at the cashier when you leave.
